The Committee considered the note verbale dated 7 December 2001 from the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations Office at Geneva containing comments and additional information on the conclusions and recommendations adopted by the Committee.

In considering the item, the Working Group had before it a note by the Secretariat on partnership with environmental non-governmental organizations and with the industry and business sectors(UNEP/CHW/OEWG/2/10) and an information document on the Basel Convention partnership programme(UNEP/CHW/OEWG/2/INF/7) containing comments from industry and non-governmental organizations on the draft work programme on partnerships.

The Committee had before it notes by the Secretariat on international cooperation and coordination(UNEP/CHW.9/15) and on cooperation between the Basel Convention and IMO(UNEP/CHW.9/16), together with information documents containing comments from Parties and the IMO secretariat pursuant to decisions VIII/9 and OEWG-VI/8(UNEP/CHW.9/INF/22 and Add.1), and on the international conference on the environmentally sound management of wastes generated at sea(UNEP/CHW.9/INF/39).

How should a Government respond when the year ' s product consisted of two commentaries to articles not yet formally submitted to the General Assembly, plus a provisional annex, and a decision taken on a divided vote? His delegation had decided to employ a method which had been used previously in the Sixth Committee, causing a written paper to be circulated containing comments on the provisional draft articles dealing with countermeasures.

At its forty-seventh session, in 1992, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to invite Member States to submit written comments on a possible review of the membership of the Security Council and also requested the Secretary-General to submit to the Assembly at its forty-eighth session a report containing comments made by Member States(resolution 47/62 of 11 December 1992).

Requests the Secretary-General to continue to seek the views of Member States on the possible establishment of a United Nations voluntary fund for victims of terrorism, as well as ways and means to rehabilitate the victims of terrorism and to reintegrate them into society, and to submit to the General Assembly at its fifty-second session, for its consideration, a report containing comments made by Member States on the subject;
