Delegations welcomed the recommendations and main findings of the ad hoc expert group meeting on developing a methodology for assessing the consequences incurred by third States as a result of preventive or enforcement measures and on exploring innovative and practical measures of international assistance to affected third States, 17 with some delegations noting that the in-depth review undertaken by the group was a significant step towards the practical implementation of Articles 49 and 50 of the Charter of the United Nations.

Also requests the Secretary-General to seek the views of Governments and to hold consultations, as appropriate, with the relevant international organizations both within and outside the United Nations system regarding the report on the ad hoc expert group meeting on developing a methodology for assessing the consequences incurred by third States as a result of preventive or enforcement measures and on exploring innovative and practical measures of international assistance to the affected third States, in particular its conclusions and recommendations; A/53/312, sect.
