This important instrument, which was adopted without a vote on 4 August 1995, will facilitate the implementation of the relevant provisions of the Convention for the effective conservation and management of straddling fish stocks and highly migratory fish stocks on the high seas beyond areas of national jurisdiction, through the promotion of enhanced international cooperation for the benefit of all humankind.
