Invites the Commission to draw up the provisional agendas for its future sessions in accordance with the approved multi-year programme of work, without prejudice to rules 5 to 9 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council;
After the closure of the forty-ninth session, the Commission will open the fiftieth session for the sole purpose of electing the new Chairperson and other members of the Bureau, in accordance with rule 15 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Council and Council decision 2002/234.

In accordance with the Economic and Social Council resolution 1999/30 and rule 16 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council, the Commission, immediately following the closure of the forty-fourth session, will hold the first meeting of its forty-fifth session for the sole purpose of electing the new Chairman and other members of the bureau.
In accordance with Economic and Social Council resolution 2003/31 and rule 15 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Council, the Commission, at the end of its seventeenth session, on 18 April 2008, opened its eighteenth session for the sole purpose of electing its bureau for that session.

In accordance with rule 21 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council, and after consultations with the regional groups, the Chairman would designate five members of the Commission to serve in their personal capacity on the Working Group on Situations to meet prior to the fifty- fifth session of the Commission in 1999.

In the light of that decision, and in accordance with rule 16 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council, the Commission, immediately following the closure of the forty-third session, held the first meeting of its forty-fourth session for the sole purpose of electing the new Chairman and other members of the bureau.
