แน่นอนยิ่งพวกเจ้าจะถูกทดสอบในทรัพย์สมบัติของพวกเจ้าและตัวของพวกเจ้าและแน่นอนยิ่งพวกเจ้าจะได้ยินจากบรรดาผู้ที่ได้รับคัมภีร์ก่อนหน้าพวกเจ้าและบรรดาผู้ที่ให้มีภาคีขึ้นแก่อัลลอฮ์ ซึ่งการก่อความเดือดร้อนอันมากมายและหากพวกเจ้าอดทนและยำเกรงแล้วแท้จริงนั่นคือส่วนหนึ่งจากกิจการที่เด็ดเดี่ยว

Among the People of the Scripture there is he who, if thou trust him with a weight of treasure, will return it to thee. And among them there is he who, if thou trust him with a piece of gold, will not return it to thee unless thou keep standing over him. That is because they say: We have no duty to the Gentiles. They speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly.
และจากหมู่ผู้ที่ได้รับคัมภีร์นั้นมีผู้ที่หากเจ้าฝากเขาไว้ซึ่งทรัพย์สมบัติอันมากมายเขาก็จะคืนมันแก่เขจ้าและจากหมู่พวกเขานั้นมีผู้ที่หากเจ้าฝากเขาไว้สักเหรียญทองหนึ่งเขาก็จะไม่คืนมันแก่เจ้านอกจากเจ้าจะยืนเผ้าทวงเขาอยู่เท่านั้นนั่นก็เพราะว่าพวกเขากล่าวว่าในหมู่ผู้ที่อ่านเขียนไม่เป็นนั้นไม่มีทางใดที่เป็นโทษแก่เราได้และพวกเขากล่าวความเท็จให้แก่อัลลอฮ์ทั้งที่พวกเขารู้กันดีอยู่

So if they argue with you, say,"I have submitted myself to Allah[in Islam], and[so have] those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Scripture and[to] the unlearned,"Have you submitted yourselves?" And if they submit[in Islam], they are rightly guided; but if they turn away- then upon you is only the[duty of] notification. And Allah is Seeing of[His] servants.
แล้วหากพวกเขาโต้แย้งเจ้าก็จงกล่าวเถิดว่าฉันได้มอบใบหน้าร่างกาย ของฉันแด่อัลลอฮ์แล้วและผู้ที่ปฏิบัติตามฉัน(ก็มอบ) ด้วยและเจ้าจงกล่าวแก่บรรดาผู้ที่ได้รับคัมภีร์และบรรดาผู้ที่เขียนอ่านไม่เป็นว่าพวกท่านมอบใบหน้าแด่อัลลอฮ์ แล้วหรือ? ถ้าหากพวกเขาได้มอบแล้วแน่นอนพวกเขาก็ได้รับแล้วซึ่งแนวทางอันถูกต้องและถ้าหากพวกเขาผินหลังให้แท้จริงหน้าที่ของเจ้านั้นเพียงการประกาศให้ทราบเท่านั้นและอัลลอฮ์นั้นเป็นผู้ทรงเห็นปวงบ่าวทั้งหลาย
