The functions of the secretariat are laid down in Article 8.2 of the Convention, paragraph(g) of which provides scope for the expansion of these functions by stating that[the secretariat] shall" perform the other secretariat functions specified in the Convention and in any of its protocols and such other functions as may be determined by the Conference of the Parties.".
