In that context, the  document concerning implementation of the World Programme of Action concerning Disabled Persons(A/50/473) reported on the  progress of  efforts to ensure the  equalization of  opportunities and full inclusion of  persons with disabilities in the  various bodies of the  United Nations system, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 48/95.
Recognizing that the  implementation of the World Programme of Action and the  achievement of the  internationally agreed development goals, including the  Millennium Development Goals, require the  full and effective participation of  young people and youth-led organizations and other civil society organizations at the  local, national, regional and international levels.
Ms. Huitfeldt(Norway), speaking in her capacity as youth representative, noted that the World  Youth Forum of the  United Nations System, a biennial event, gave non-governmental youth organizations the  opportunity to discuss with organizations of the  United Nations system the  implementation of the World Programme of Action for Youth to the  Year 2000 and Beyond.
Also requests the  Secretary-General to report to the  Commission for Social Development at its fifty-first session on the implementation of the  present resolution, including on the  efforts to develop possible indicators to measure the  progress of the  implementation of the World Programme of Action for Youth, in order to assist States in assessing the  situation of  youth.
