Moreover Ahithophel said to Absalom,"Let me now choose twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David tonight.

ומשנהו כלאב לאביגל אשת נבל הכרמלי והשלשי אבשלום בן מעכה בת תלמי מלך גשור׃.They took Absalom, threw him into a great pit in the forest, and raised over him a very great heap of stones.
אנשיו של יואב לקחו את אבשלום"וישליכו אותו ביער אל הפחת הגדול ויצבו עליו גל אבנים גדול מאד"שם.And they took Absalom, and cast him into a great pit in the wood, and laid a very great heap of stones upon him: and all Israel fled every one to his tent.
ויקחו את אבשלום וישליכו Then David came to Mahanaim. Absalom passed over the Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.
