അപ്പോള്‍ ഭൂകമ്പം അവരെ പിടികൂടി. അങ്ങനെ നേരം പുലര്‍ന്നപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളില്‍ കമിഴ്ന്ന് വീണ് കിടക്കുന്നവരായിരുന്നു.

And[mention] when We said to the angels,"Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated,
നാം മലക്കുകളോട് പറഞ്ഞതോര്‍ക്കുക:" നിങ്ങള്‍ ആദമിന് സാഷ്ടാംഗം പ്രണമിക്കുക.” അപ്പോള്‍ അവരെല്ലാം പ്രണമിച്ചു;

Indeed those who are[stationed] near your Lord do not disdain to worship Him. They glorify Him and prostrate to Him.
നിന്റെ നാഥന്റെ അടുത്തുള്ളവര്‍ അവനെ വണങ്ങുന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കലും അഹങ്കരിക്കാറില്ല. അവര്‍ അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധിയെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു. അവന് സാഷ്ടാംഗം പ്രണമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

submitted their wills(to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead(for sacrifice),!

Surely, those who are with your Lord(angels) are never too proud to perform acts of worship to Him, but they glorify His Praise and prostrate before Him.
നിന്റെ നാഥന്റെ അടുത്തുള്ളവര്‍ അവനെ വണങ്ങുന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കലും അഹങ്കരിക്കാറില്ല. അവര്‍ അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധിയെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു. അവന് സാഷ്ടാംഗം പ്രണമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

When(you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him.
ആകയാല്‍ നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിനെ സ്തുതിച്ച് കൊണ്ട് നീ സ്തോത്രകീര്‍ത്തനം നടത്തുകയും, നീ സുജൂദ് ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

Everything in the heavens and every crawling creature on earth, and the angels prostrate to Allah and they are not proud;
ആകാശങ്ങളിലുള്ളതും ഭൂമിയിലുള്ളതുമായ ഏതൊരു ജീവിയും അല്ലാഹുവിന് സുജൂദ് ചെയ്യുന്നു. മലക്കുകളും( സുജൂദ് ചെയ്യുന്നു.) അവര്‍ അഹങ്കാരം നടിക്കുന്നില്ല.

കുമ്പിടുകയും സാഷ്ടാംഗം നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍, സദാചാരം കല്‍പിക്കുകയും ദുരാചാരത്തില്‍നിന്ന് വിലക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍, അല്ലാഹുവിന്‍റെ അതിര്‍വരമ്പുകളെ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര്‍.( ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള)

Iblis did not; he said: shall I prostrate myself before one whom Thou hast created of clay?
നാം മലക്കുകളോട് പറഞ്ഞ സന്ദര്‍ഭം! അപ്പോഴവര്‍ സാഷ്ടാംഗം പ്രണമിച്ചു. ഇബ്ലീസൊഴികെ. അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു:" നീ കളിമണ്ണുകൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയവന് ഞാന്‍ സാഷ്ടാംഗം ചെയ്യുകയോ?”?

when it is read unto them, fall down prostrate on their faces.
ജ്ഞാനം നല്‍കപ്പെട്ടവരാരോ അവര്‍ക്ക് ഇത് വായിച്ചുകേള്‍പിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ അവര്‍ പ്രണമിച്ച് കൊണ്ട് മുഖം കുത്തി വീഴുന്നതാണ്‌.

And when it is said unto them: prostrate yourselves unto the Compassionate, they say: and what is the Compassionate? Shall we prostrate ourselves unto that which thou commandest us? And it increaseth in them aversion.
ആ പരമകാരുണികനെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം പ്രണമിക്കൂ എന്ന് അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ അവര്‍ ചോദിക്കും:" എന്താണീ പരമകാരുണികനെന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍? നീ പറയുന്നവരെയൊക്കെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ സാഷ്ടാംഗം പ്രണമിക്കണമെന്നോ?” അങ്ങനെ സത്യപ്രബോധനം അവരുടെ അകല്‍ച്ചയും വെറുപ്പും വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കുകയാണുണ്ടായത്.

And[mention] when We said to the angels,"Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated,
ആദമിനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ പ്രണമിക്കുക എന്ന് നാം മലക്കുകളോട് പറഞ്ഞ സന്ദര്‍ഭം( ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക). അവര്‍ പ്രണമിച്ചു;

do not believe. When it is recited to those to whom knowledge was given before they fall prostrate upon their faces.
വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരിക്കുക. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും ഇതിന് മുമ്പ്( ദിവ്യ) ജ്ഞാനം നല്‍കപ്പെട്ടവരാരോ അവര്‍ക്ക് ഇത് വായിച്ചുകേള്‍പിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ അവര്‍ പ്രണമിച്ച് കൊണ്ട് മുഖം കുത്തി വീഴുന്നതാണ്‌.

then ordered the angels,“Prostrate before Adam”; so they all prostrated, except Iblis(Satan); he did not become of those who prostrate.
നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് രൂപമേകി. തുടര്‍ന്ന് നാം മലക്കുകളോട് പറഞ്ഞു:" ആദമിനെ പ്രണമിക്കുക.” അവര്‍ പ്രണമിച്ചു. ഇബ്ലീസൊഴികെ. അവന്‍ പ്രണമിച്ചവരില്‍ പെട്ടില്ല.

He refused to be of those who prostrate.
