اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو تم(سب) کو ایک ہی امت بنا دیتا لیکن وہ جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ ٹھہرا دیتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت فرما دیتا ہے، اور تم سے ان کاموں کی نسبت ضرور پوچھا جائے گا جو تم انجام دیا کرتے تھےo

follow the vain desires of people who went wrong in times gone by,- who misled many, and strayed(themselves) from the even way.
ہو چکے ہیں۔ اور بہت سوں کو گمراہ کر چکے ہیں اور راہ راست سے بھٹک گئے ہیں

اور داؤد اور سلیمان(علیہما السلام) کو یاد کیجئے جبکہ وه کھیت کے معاملہ میں فیصلہ کر رہے تھے کہ کچھ لوگوں کی بکریاں رات کو اس میں چر چگ گئی تھیں، اور ان کے فیصلے میں ہم موجود تھے

O People who Believe! Fear for your own souls; he who has strayed cannot harm you in the least if you are on guidance; towards Allah only you will all return- He will then inform you of what you used to do.
اے ایمان والو! تم اپنی جانوں کی فکر کرو، تمہیں کوئی گمراہ نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتا اگر تم ہدایت یافتہ ہو چکے ہو، تم سب کو اللہ ہی کی طرف پلٹنا ہے، پھر وہ تمہیں ان کاموں سے خبردار فرما دے گا جو تم کرتے رہے تھے

O you who believe! You are responsible for your own souls. He who has strayed cannot harm you if you are guided. To God is you return, all of you, and He will inform you of what you used to do.
اے ایمان والو! تم اپنی جانوں کی فکر کرو، تمہیں کوئی گمراہ نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتا اگر تم ہدایت یافتہ ہو چکے ہو، تم سب کو اللہ ہی کی طرف پلٹنا ہے، پھر وہ تمہیں ان کاموں سے خبردار فرما دے گا جو تم کرتے رہے تھے

one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away(from the right).
جو خدا کا شریک قرار دے گا وہ گمراہی میں بہت دور تک چلا گیا ہے

will say. are ye the ones who sent astray these My bondmen; or strayed they themselves from the way!
کر دیا تھا یا وہ(خود) ہی راہ سے بھٹک گئے تھے،!

and[themselves] strayed from the right path.'.

اور داؤد اور سلیمان(علیہما السلام) کو یاد کیجئے جبکہ وه کھیت کے معاملہ میں فیصلہ کر رہے تھے کہ کچھ لوگوں کی بکریاں رات کو اس میں چر چگ گئی تھیں، اور ان کے فیصلے میں ہم موجود تھے

Say,‘O People of the Book! Do not unduly exceed the bounds in your religion and do not follow the fancies of a people who went astray in the past, and led many astray, and[themselves] strayed from the right path.'.
کہو، اے اہل کتاب! اپنے دین میں ناحق غلو نہ کرو اور اُ ن لوگوں کے تخیلات کی پیروی نہ کرو جو تم سے پہلے خود گمراہ ہوئے اور بہتوں کو گمراہ کیا، اور"سَوَا٫ السّبیل" سے بھٹک گئے

and[themselves] strayed from the right path.'.
راہ راست سے بھٹک گئے ہیں

Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach[Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.
تو کیوں نہ مدد کی ان کی جن کو انہوں نے اللہ کے سوا قرب حاصل کرنے کو خدا ٹھہرا رکھا تھا بلکہ وہ ان سے گم گئے اور یہ ان کا بہتان و افتراء ہے
