Have you not considered those who went forth from their homes, for fear of death, and they were thousands, then Allah said to them,
کیا تم نے ان کو نہیں دیکھا جو موت کے ڈر سے اپنے گھروں سے نکلتے تھے اور وہ کئی ہزار تھے بس اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کو فرمایا

Have you not considered those who went forth from their homes, for fear of death, and they were thousands, then Allah said to them,
کیا تم نے ان کو نہیں دیکھا جو موت کے ڈر سے اپنے گھروں سے نکلتے تھے اور وہ کئی ہزار تھے بس اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کو فرمایا

Have you not considered those who went forth from their homes, for fear of death, and they were thousands, then Allah said to them,
اے محبوب کیا تم نے نہ دیکھا تھا انہیں جو اپنے گھروں سے نکلے اور وہ ہزاروں تھے موت کے ڈر سے،

when you went forth from your home at early dawn(to the battlefield of Uhud)
جب تم صبح سویرے اپنے گھر سے نکلے تھے اور(احد کے میدان میں) مسلمانوں کو جنگ

Have you not considered those who went forth from their home, for fear of death and they were thousands, the Allah said to them,"Die" again He gave them life.
کیا تم نے نہ دیکھا انہیں جو اپنے گھروں سے نکلے اور وہ ہزاروں تھے موت کے ڈر سے، تو اﷲ نے ان سے فرمایا مرجاؤ، پھر انہیں زندہ فرمادیا

Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord,(their differences)
آپ کے رب کی طرف سے ایک بات صادر نہ ہو چکی ہوتی

then they differed(later), and had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, it would have been settled between them regarding what they differed.
ایک بات جو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے پہلے ہوچکی ہے نہ ہوتی تو جن باتوں میں وہ اختلاف کرتے ہیں ان میں فیصلہ کر دیا جاتا

And they have accepted these words, and they have truly understood that I went forth from you, and they have believed that you sent me.
اور جب وہ ان الفاظ کو قبول کیا ہے, اور وہ صحیح معنوں میں سمجھ لیا ہے میں نے آپ سے صادر ہوا کہ, اور وہ یہ کہ آپ نے مجھے بھیجا ایمان لائے ہو

one nation, but differed(later). Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, their differences would have been settled between them.
ایک بات جو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے پہلے ہوچکی ہے نہ ہوتی تو جن باتوں میں وہ اختلاف کرتے ہیں ان میں فیصلہ کر دیا جاتا

Hast thou not regarded those who went forth from their habitations in their thousands fearful of death? God said to them,'Die!' Then He gave them life. Truly God is bounteous to the people, but most of the people are not thankful.
(اے حبیب!) کیا آپ نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جو موت کے ڈر سے اپنے گھروں سے نکل گئے حالانکہ وہ ہزاروں(کی تعداد میں) تھے، تو اﷲ نے انہیں حکم دیا: مر جاؤ(سو وہ مرگئے)، پھر انہیں زندہ فرما دیا، بیشک اﷲ لوگوں پر فضل فرمانے والا ہے مگر اکثر لوگ(اس کا) شکر ادا نہیں کرتے

Bethinkest thou not of those Who Went forth from their habitations, and they were in their thousands, to escape death Then Allah said unto them: die and thereafter quickened them. Verily Allah is Gracious unto men; albeit most men give not thanks.
(اے حبیب!) کیا آپ نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جو موت کے ڈر سے اپنے گھروں سے نکل گئے حالانکہ وہ ہزاروں(کی تعداد میں) تھے، تو اﷲ نے انہیں حکم دیا: مر جاؤ(سو وہ مرگئے)، پھر انہیں زندہ فرما دیا، بیشک اﷲ لوگوں پر فضل فرمانے والا ہے مگر اکثر لوگ(اس کا) شکر ادا نہیں کرتے

Then the two went forth until when they came to a town,
پھر وہ آگے چلے یہاں تک کہ ایک بستی میں پہنچے

Have you not considered those who went forth from their homes, for fear of death, and they were thousands, then Allah said to them, Die; again He gave them life; most surely Allah is Gracious to people,
کیا آپ نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جو موت کے ڈر سے اپنے گھروں سے نکل گئے حالانکہ وہ ہزاروں(کی تعداد میں)

Did you(O Muhammad SAW) not think of those who went forth from their homes in thousands, fearing death? Allah said to them,"Die". And then He restored them to life. Truly, Allah is full of Bounty to mankind,
(اے حبیب!) کیا آپ نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جو موت کے ڈر سے اپنے گھروں سے نکل گئے حالانکہ وہ ہزاروں(کی تعداد میں)

Bethink thee(O Muhammad) of those of old, who went forth from their habitations in their thousands, fearing death, and Allah said unto them: Die; and then He brought them back to life. Lo! Allah is a Lord of Kindness to mankind,
(اے حبیب!) کیا آپ نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جو موت کے ڈر سے اپنے گھروں سے نکل گئے حالانکہ وہ ہزاروں(کی تعداد میں)

Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord,(their differences)
تیرے رب نے پہلے ہی ایک بات طے نہ کر دی ہوتی

We certainly gave Moses the Book aforetime: but disputes arose therein. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord,(their differences) would have been settled between them: but they remained in suspicious disquieting doubt thereon.
اور بے شک ہم نے موسٰی(علیہ السلام) کو کتاب عطا فرمائی تو اس میں(بھی) اختلاف کیا گیا، اور اگر آپ کے رب کی طرف سے فرمان پہلے صادر نہ ہو چکا ہوتا تو اُن کے درمیان فیصلہ کر دیا جاتا اور بے شک وہ اس(قرآن) کے بارے میں(بھی) دھوکہ دینے والے شک میں(مبتلاء) ہیں
